God Gives. Jesus Lives. We Thrive. Resurrection Power for Real Life | Hebrews 13:20-21

 • Ben Bailie • Series: Easter

Join us this Easter as we unpack the powerful benediction of Hebrews 13:20–21 and discover how the same resurrection power that rolled the stone away can transform our daily lives. In “God Gives. Jesus Lives. We Thrive.” we’ll celebrate three life‑changing truths: the God of peace who gives us true wholeness, our living Shepherd who leads and intercedes for us, and the Spirit‑empowered community equipped for every good work. Whether you’re weary from striving or simply curious about what resurrection hope looks like in real life, this message will remind you that Easter isn’t just a historical event—it’s the very power offered to work in you today. We’ll explore how our culture’s “wellness” fads promise peace but can never deliver the lasting shalom purchased by Christ’s blood. Then we’ll see how Jesus, raised by the Father’s unstoppable power, continues to guide His flock as the great Shepherd of the sheep. Finally, we’ll be encouraged that we are not left to our own strength—but are outfitted by God Himself to live out His will in every sphere: in our families, workplaces, friendships, and struggles. Come prepared for a benediction that feels more like an invitation: “Now may the God of peace … equip you with everything good that you may do his will.” Let’s gather on Easter morning to stand in awe of the risen Savior, embrace His gift of peace, and step into the new life He’s prepared, which is pleasing to Him and good for us. Discussion Questions for Adults 1. Longing for Peace: In what areas of your life do you most desperately need the “God of peace,” and how does the reality of Christ’s resurrection reshape your hope for wholeness there? 2. Shepherding Presence: Hebrews calls Jesus our “great shepherd.” Can you share an example from your journey where you sensed His guiding or comforting presence? How might you cultivate greater awareness of His leading? 3. Equipped for Everyday: What is one routine task, relationship, or challenge you’re facing right now—and how does it change your approach to know that the same power that raised Jesus is “working in you”? 4. Thriving Together: How can our church community better encourage one another to live as “Easter people”—equipped, empowered, and sent? What practical steps might we take in the coming week? 5. Living the Benediction: If you were to write your own brief benediction based on “He gives. He lives. We thrive.,” what would you pray over someone entering a difficult season? ⸻ Discussion Questions for Children 1. Peace from Above: What does it feel like inside when you try to make yourself calm (e.g., taking deep breaths or counting to ten)? How is that different from trusting Jesus, the “God of peace”? 2. Sheep and Shepherd: If you were a sheep, what would you want your good shepherd (Jesus) to do for you every day? 3. Alive Like Jesus What does it mean that Jesus “lives” now? Can you think of something He does today to help you? 4. God’s Toolbox: The sermon said God “equips” us with everything good. What might be in God’s “toolbox” to help you be kind, brave, or joyful this week? 5. Thriving Together: How can we help a friend feel like they “thrive” as part of Jesus’ family? What’s one kind thing you could do for someone this week?
